The Planets

Greetings everyone, today we are going to be talking about the most important part of astrology which are the Planets.

The Planets in astrology are what make your birthchart so unique and different. The planets in a birth chart reflect multiple aspects of you as a person such as personality, emotions, thought process and so much more!

Today we will briefly go in depth on the planets and what they mean. To start let us talk about some terminology!

The first terminology would have to be ‘The Luminaries’ which are the “planets” that are not really planets. These are: The Sun and The Moon. The sun and the moon although are not technically Planets, are the two most important planets in astrology when deciding to dissect your birth chart. Next would have to be the ‘Personal Planet’ and the ‘Outer Planets’.

The personal planets are characterized by planets that reflect aspects of your life closely due to them being closer to Earth and these Planets are: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. While the Outer planets are symbolized as: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

A popular term that goes on within astrology would have to be the term: retrograde. Retrograde in simple terms is simply when the planets( Except the Luminaries) appear to move backwards through the zodiac sign. When this happens the energy that normally functions normally is now expressed inwardly which can reflect some blockages, obstacles, and troubles. Depending on the planet it will show different effects. Now let’s get started on the Planets:

The Sun represents your life force, and your true personality. When it comes to the sun and how bright it shines in the galaxy based on everything we learned prior we can see if someone is an introverted or extroverted person based on the polarities. We can see how someone interacts with their environment and how they express themselves through the elements too. With the zodiac signs we can see which characteristics are more prominent within a person. Lastly we can see what type of person they will be growing to be as well.

The Moon represents your emotions and how you best deal with them. When it comes to the moon we can see how exactly a person would rather deal with emotions. In air signs they tend to detach and analyze their emotions, while water moons are quite emotional and allow their emotions to be expressed, fire moons tend to have explosive emotions while Earth moons are quite grounded with their feelings.

Mercury represents your thought process and how you communicate. When it comes to thought process based on the sign shows where your mind wanders from time to time, due to this it can demonstrate how you speak and how you go about speaking of things as well. Mercury in positive polarities will tend to speak to other people and form connections, while in a negative polarity they may keep their thoughts to themselves or may not open up as easily.

Venus represents what you like and what you own. When it comes to Venus it is all about the things that are dear to your heart such as romantic partners and your possessions. By looking at the characteristics of the sign Venus is placed in we can see what a person desires in a romantic interest. At the same time we can see the types of qualities they desire to own, and their values as a person as well.

Mars represents your will and your action. It is what drives you to do things within this world, looking at the sign it is in we can see how a person works best and what exactly causes them to do what they do, and why. The action will tend to reflect the house that Mars is in and reflects their drive as well.

Jupiter resembles luck and what is abundant in your life. By looking at Jupiter within your chart it reflects what you have a lot of within your life, by looking at the sign it reflects how you can essentially have luck with life, and how you can grow in life.

Saturn resembles difficulties and blockages. By looking at Saturn within your chart it reflects what troubles may pop up within your life, however once you’ve overcome it Saturn will give you enormous rewards for dealing with it properly.

Uranus represents unexpected changes and where we are eccentric. Uranus is the sudden and accidental changes that occur in different areas of life, due to the sign of Uranus being Generational the house it is in will give you the primary influence on your life.

Neptune represents where intuition and fogginess occurs. With the Neptune clouds you can expect this planet to make things foggy or even confusing depending on the house it is in, due to this planet being a generational planet as well.

Pluto represents transformation and rebirth within one's chart. With Pluto you can expect which area of life might go through constant endings and beginnings, this planet is generational meaning that you should look towards the house to get a better meaning on how it affects you!
